Youth Group - Youth Service Slideshow

Our youth enjoy times of fun and fellowship under the guidance of our youth directors.  With programs available for all teens in middle school and high school, there are ample opportunities for all youth to get involved.

Sunday mornings

Teens meet for practical, relevant biblically based Sunday school classes at 9:00 a.m.

Sunday evenings

Teens get together Sunday evenings at 5:30 p.m. for an exciting time of games and group interaction, all centered around growing together in Christ.  Relationship building is a major emphasis of these great times.

Bible quizzing program

Teens are welcome to join our Bible quizzing program, too.  Teams compete monthly on various books of the Bible.  This program is for those in grades six through 12. Contact the church office or check out the Bible quizzing page for more information.

Numerous special activities are also scheduled weekly, monthly, and through the year, with our aim being to love others as Jesus loved and to help our youth develop a close relationship with Jesus Christ.

Youth Directors Lee and Sara Busick

What they do (and where they've been):

Sara and Lee met their freshman year at Asbury College. After transferring to Morehead State University, Sara and Lee worked for three years as part of various college and church ministry teams. Following college, they worked for two years as youth directors at St. Mark's United Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio. Since August 2007, they have served as youth directors for the Bloomington Free Methodist Church.

Outside of the church, Sara serves as an associate director at Indiana University's Career Development Center and has worked for various arts organizations. She received a Master of Arts in Cultural Policy and Arts Administration from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art with a concentration in photography and a minor in business administration from Morehead State University.

Lee is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts Degree in Printmaking at Indiana University. Lee taught graphic design at Columbus College of Art & Design and is currently teaching art at IU. For the past nine years, Lee has worked as a freelance graphic designer and commissioned portrait artist. Lee received a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art with a concentration in graphic design from Morehead State University.

What they believe:

They believe that God can work through anyone at any age.

They believe that Christ hears all of our prayers and never leaves one unanswered.

They believe that God's glory can be seen in the sky and in the dirt and in the early morning light and in teenagers.

They believe that there is nothing more important than the decision to follow Christ and they are committed to equipping the young people of this church with the knowledge, experience, and self-confidence that they need in order to make this decision for themselves.
